As we mark this major milestone, we are looking back with gratitude at the moments that defined us, and looking forward to a future as bright and stylish as our past.
A Look Back in Time
Did You Know? 5 Facts for 55 Years
1. Hollywood North We’ve set the scene for the silver screen! CF Sherway Gardens has been a filming location for major hits including Mean Girls (2004), The Sentinel (2006), and the classic F/X (1986). 2. Star-Studded History We are no stranger to icons. Over the years, we’ve hosted legends like Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, and Ricky Martin. We even hosted Kim Kardashian in 2010 to launch her makeup line and celebrate her 30th birthday! 3. What’s in a Name? Our name is a piece of local history. "Sherway" is a portmanteau of Sheridan Nurseries (which previously occupied the land) and The Queensway (the major road to our north). 4. A Grand Entrance When we first opened our doors in 1970, CF Sherway Gardens held the title of the largest mall in Canada, setting the standard for the premier shopping experience you know today. 5. Community Resilience We are more than just a shopping centre. During the pandemic, we reimagined our space by converting our parking lots into a drive-in theater to bring the community together safely.
