Markham’s very first dedicated LEGO retail location is officially open on Level 2 at CF Markville! At 2,690 sq. ft., this permanent store represents the brand's largest Canadian expansion in over five years. The new venue offers hands-on experiences for fans of all ages, including interactive assembly stations, a specialized Pick-a-Brick wall, and a custom brick-built mural highlighting the Toronto skyline. While serving as a key market expansion rather than a national premiere, the store brings an exciting new retail destination to the local community.
Founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen in Billund, Denmark, The LEGO Group takes its name from the Danish phrase "leg godt," which translates to "play well." Since securing the patent for its signature interlocking plastic brick in 1958, the family-owned business has evolved from simple wooden toys into a global entertainment giant encompassing major motion pictures, theme parks, video games, and robotics. By blending famous pop-culture collaborations with foundational play, LEGO continues to merge imaginative storytelling with creative engineering for builders and collectors world-wide.
In addition to the new CF Markville location, LEGO stores can be found across several Cadillac Fairview destinations, including CF Chinook Centre, CF Fairview Mall, CF Fairview Pointe Claire, CF Polo Park, CF Richmond Centre, CF Rideau Centre, CF Sherway Gardens, and CF Carrefour Laval (with a new store coming soon to CF Toronto Eaton Centre).
