Get REAL is a non-profit organization that works to combat 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination, racism and bullying in schools, summer camps, and workplaces. Since 2020, Purdys Chocolatier has donated over $150,000 to amplify their work. Through this partnership, the Purdys team has been on an ongoing journey of learning to be allies and promote 2SLGBTQ+ inclusivity in their retail shops, Support Office, factory and fulfillment centre. Over 1,000 Purdys team members in all areas of the company have participated in Get REAL workshops such as 2SLGBTQ+ allyship, anti-Racism and Trans-101 workshops. American Eagle & Aerie are proud to once again be supporting It Gets Better, a nonprofit organization that strives to uplift, empower and connect 2SLGBTQ+ youth around the globe. This year American Eagle & Aerie will donate $100,000 to It Gets Better as well as collecting pinpad donations in American Eagle stores throughout Pride month. Through these donations, It Gets Better is able to fund their 50 States. 50 Grants. 5,000 Voices initiative in the United States and True Voices Youth Grants initiative in Canada. True Voices is a grant-making initiative created to empower, inspire and encourage 2SLGBTQ+ secondary students from coast-to-coast to embrace the power of storytelling to overcome the challenges that 2SLGBTQ+ youth and their communities are facing. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to an eligible student group within a secondary school located in each Canadian province and territory. In countries around the world, LGBTQI+ people face violence and oppression simply because of who they love or who they are. Rainbow Railroad helps them get to safety. Since 2021, Hudson’s Bay Foundation has supported Rainbow Railroad’s Resettlement Programs, which provide travel and resettlement assistance to LGBTQI+ people fleeing persecution, as well as providing financial and other forms of assistance in finding safe shelter and connecting LGBTQIA+ community members to services such as health care and mental health support. In 2023 alone, Rainbow Railroad provided direct support to 7,690 LGBTQI+ individuals around the world, helping to improve their safety and wellbeing.
