As summer comes to an end, it’s important to know how you can adjust your skin and beauty regimen to fit any season. As autumn leaves go through their own changes, there are plenty of ways to keep your skin looking fresh and radiant. You can even try new fun fall makeup looks! Here are just a few fall beauty ideas to make the switch: Put it in (Monochromatic) Neutral As we transition into the cozy season, it’s only natural to want to pare down your makeup without compromising the glam. Nudes and browns work for any skin tone as long as you find the shades that work with your undertone. Going full face monochromatic can give you a polished, bold and bronzed look any time of the year.

Be Bold, in Subtle Ways Summer days may be over, but old habits die hard. Bold colours can still make appearances in the fall, but they should be used sparingly. Think bold blue eyeliners or neutral makeup with a red or brown ombre lip colour.

Dark, Matte & Smokey From vampy lips to smokey eyes for your fall eyeshadow looks, the autumn months are the best time of year to go a bit darker. Consider swapping out your glossy nudes and bright colours for bold mattes in shades like dark reds and deep plum. You can also try a light smokey eye in an array of brown and grey shades for mysterious and sophisticated fall eyeshadow looks.

Moisture is Key While the summer months make our skin moist, autumn makes our skin a lot drier than usual— which is what makes fall skin care so important! Consider putting your clarifying cleanser away until next summer, and opting for one infused with moisture. As for your daily moisturizer, consider ones that are rich to compensate for the lack of humidity in the air. Opt for products that are non-comedogenic if you have oily or combination skin.

Step Back From Exfoliating After putting some extra moisture back into your skin, over-exfoliating will only slough the good stuff away and possibly lead to dryness and irritation. Switch over to weekly exfoliators so that your skin gets a chance to soak up and enjoy all of the moisture it’s desperately going to need during this season.

Embrace “Cloud Skin” Somewhere between the dewy skin of hot summer days and perfectly matte skin of winter nights is cloud skin—a wonderful in between that focuses on creating soft sateen finish to the skin. It’s the perfect representation of how makeup may settle at this time of the year with temperatures that can oscillate between warm and cool throughout the day. As one of the biggest makeup trends of 2023, there’s no signs of it slowing down now.
