Welcome to LiVE by CF™. This LiVE by CF Privacy Notice and the LiVE by CF Terms of Service govern your use of LiVE by CF. In this LiVE by CF Privacy Notice, you will find information about our collection, use, retention, disclosure and other processing of personal information we collect through LiVE by CF.

LiVE by CF is powered by Ravel by CF Inc. – an affiliate of The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited. References to "Cadillac Fairview" means The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited and its affiliates, including Ravel by CF Inc.

LiVE by CF now allows you to create a personal My LiVE profile. You can create a My LiVE profile using your email address or by using social sign-in options, such as your Google or Apple account. If you use social sign in, the social media account you use will provide us with your email address, depending on your permissions. You can also use LiVE by CF without providing us with your name or email address. However, not all features will be available without a My LiVE profile.

We collect your in-app search history for products and services, whether you click-through to third party websites using links we provide in LiVE by CF, and your usage history of features and functionality of LiVE by CF in order to improve the relevancy of the search results, offers and promotions we show you, to maintain, improve and secure LiVE by CF and for other purposes described in the LiVE by CF Privacy Notice. You can turn off personalization. See Your Rights and Choices below.

Some functions of LiVE by CF are powered by our service providers who will process your personal information on our behalf. In some cases, we may permit these service providers to use non-identifying information or aggregated or statistical data collected through LiVE by CF to maintain and improve their services.

This LiVE by CF Privacy Notice provides specific information relevant to your use of LiVE by CF. You should also review Cadillac Fairview’s Privacy Policy for general information on how Cadillac Fairview handles personal information.

In-App Personalization

LiVE by CF provides you with a personalized shopping experience. As you use LiVE by CF, we collect information about your use of LiVE by CF in order to improve the relevancy of the search results, offers and promotions we show you as well as other purposes described in this Privacy Notice. This information is associated with a LiVE by CF identifier associated with your device.

Once you login or create your My LiVE account on a device, we may associate any LiVE by CF activity on that device with your My LiVE profile. Your My LiVE profile and LiVE by CF activity will also be associated with other Cadillac Fairview services you use with the same email address (including when you log into LiVE by CF using other devices).

You can use LiVE by CF without creating a My LiVE profile. If you have logged into your My LiVE profile on a device, but no longer want the use of LiVE by CF on a device to be associated with you, you can uninstall and reinstall LiVE by CF and the LiVE by CF identifier associated with your device will be reset. You can then use LiVE by CF as a guest.

You can also turn off in-app personalization so that we do not show you content based on your previous search terms and usage history. Please see below under "Your Rights and Choices" for information on your choices.

Information We Collect and Use

We are continually innovating to improve LiVE by CF and associated services. This section explains what personal information we collect today and what personal information we anticipate collecting in future releases. We will notify you before we collect additional personal information not described in this LiVE by CF Privacy Notice or use your personal information in a new way not disclosed in this LiVE by CF Privacy Notice.

Please also read the section In-App Personalization to understand how we use the personal information described below to personalize your experience with LiVE by CF and how we connect this information to other Cadillac Fairview services you use.

  • Registration Information. LiVE by CF allows you to create a personal My LiVE profile. You can create a My LiVE profile using your email address or by using social sign-in options, such as your Google or Apple account. If you use social sign in, the social media account you use will provide us with your email address, depending on your permissions. Creating a My LiVE profile allows you to add CF SHOP! card® gift cards, save favourites and link your use of LiVE by CF on multiple devices. Additional features for My LiVE are coming! You can still use LiVE by CF without creating a My LiVE profile. However, you will not be able to access all services without a My LiVE profile.
  • CF SHOP! card® Balance. You can add CF SHOP! cards to your My LiVE profile. By adding your CF SHOP! cards, you will be able to check the balance of your CF SHOP! cards. When you link your CF SHOP! card, we will use your transaction history to improve the relevancy of the search results, offers and promotions we show you.
  • LiVE by CF Identifier and other Advertising IDs. When you install LiVE by CF, we assign an identifier to your copy of LiVE by CF on your device. We use this identifier to provide the functionality in LiVE by CF and, when linked with other information, to understand how you use LiVE by CF, including what content you find compelling. If you only browse as a guest, we will not attempt to identify you using this identifier. However, if you create a My LiVE profile, your LiVE by CF Identifier will be associated with your My LiVE profile. We use device advertising IDs to provide you with relevant advertisements when you are browsing outside of LiVE by CF or using other Apps. You can turn this off in your device settings.
  • Location Information. You may use LiVE by CF without enabling location-based services. If you enable location-based services, your device will calculate whether you are at a Cadillac Fairview shopping centre or the nearest Cadillac shopping centre to you. We do this to help you find the Cadillac Fairview shopping centre near you. LiVE by CF uses third-party service providers who infer your device’s general location (such as general location in a city and province) from the internet protocol (IP) address assigned to your device. This information is used to provide you with a notice of a new log-in from a new device for security purposes. We also use this information to understand the city and province in which LiVE by CF is used. LiVE by CF does not collect GPS coordinates from your device or track your movements.
  • Wayfinding. LiVE by CF’s wayfinding tool allows you to map out a route between stores in some Cadillac Fairview shopping centres. You will need to enter your starting location at the Cadillac Fairview shopping centre and the retail stores you wish to visit at the shopping centre. LiVE by CF does not track your movements on your shopping journey. You can optimize your route to avoid areas that may be congested. We estimate congestion using anonymized foot traffic data. Some Cadillac Fairview shopping centres are equipped with technologies that use an anonymized version of a mobile device’s media access control (MAC) address to recognize when visitors are in different zones in the shopping centre to help Cadillac Fairview understand foot traffic patterns. This foot traffic data collection is separate from LiVE by CF. However, this foot traffic data helps power our route optimization wayfinding services.   • Search History and Favourites. When you search for products and services using LiVE by CF, we collect your in-app search history and how you interacted with any in-app advertisements, offers, promotions and other sponsored content from Cadillac Fairview, our shopping centre retailers and other promotional partners. We also collect information when you save favourites to your My LiVE profile. We use all of this information to understand what products and services are of interest to users of LiVE by CF and to show you search results, offers and promotions that are relevant to you. We do not collect information when you use other browsers or apps on your device.
  • Click-Through History. We record when you click on third-party links to visit a retailer’s or promotional partner’s website. We use Click-Through History to understand when users of LiVE by CF use links that we offer. In some cases, Cadillac Fairview may receive compensation for directing visitors to these other websites. We may aggregate information about your click-throughs with other users in order to evaluate and audit our compensation arrangements.
  • Device Information. Like other publishers of mobile apps, we collect device information (such as device type, make, model, operating system, language and other configuration settings, LiVE by CF version, the IP address assigned to your internet connection, and whether you are connected to Wi-Fi or using cellular data). We collect this information in order to provide the LiVE by CF services, to identify new logins, to identify security vulnerabilities and to secure our services, to create metric reports, and for troubleshooting purposes. In most cases we aggregate information about you with information of other users when we use your information in this way.
  • LiVE by CF Usage Information. We collect information about what features you use and how you use and interact with LiVE by CF. We also infer the general location of your device from the device IP address. We collect this information in order to provide the LiVE by CF services and to show you search results, offers and promotions that are relevant to you.
  • Contact Information. If you contact us for LiVE by CF support or to ask us a question about LiVE by CF or communicate with us through LiVE by CF, we will collect contact information from you such as your name and email address and your LiVE by CF Identifier in order to respond to your request. We will also collect information about your request and how we responded. If you are seeking technical support, we may also collect and use basic LiVE by CF usage information, such as device type, make, model, operating system, language and other configuration settings, LiVE by CF version, Wi-Fi network, and telecom provider, in order to troubleshoot and resolve your technical issue.
  • Push Notification Preferences. If you have push notifications enabled, we will collect information about the retailers from whom you wish to receive push notifications in order to manage your preferences as well as to understand your interests.
  • Analytics and Insights. We may use the information you provide to us or that is generated through the use of LiVE by CF in order to develop analyses and insights regarding users of LiVE by CF. We may also use this information to assist other Cadillac Fairview affiliates, retailers and other third parties improve their products and services. We may also collect analytics information using third party services. For example, if you see an advertisement for LiVE by CF and download our app, our third-party service provider will be able to use that information to measure the effectiveness of our advertisement.

Third-Party Service Providers

Like most companies, we use third party service providers and our affiliates to assist us in providing LiVE by CF and associated products and services. For example, we use third party service providers to host LiVE by CF servers, to store and authenticate your login credentials for My LiVE, to generate and manage LiVE by CF Identifiers, to host any communications you send to us through our contact form, to track app usage information for analytics purposes, and to track click throughs to third party links, and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. Our location-based services are also powered by third party service providers. Please see below under "Your Rights and Choices" for information on your choices.

If we share personal information with third-party service providers, we do so for the purposes of providing services to us. Like most companies, we may permit third-party service providers to use non-identifying information and information in an aggregated or statistical form in order to maintain and improve the services that they are offering Cadillac Fairview and other companies.

In some cases, we collect information from third parties. For example, we may collect information from audience measurement and analytics services or use your mobile device’s advertising ID to provide you with relevant advertisements when you are browsing outside of LiVE by CF or using other Apps. When it is technically feasible, we work with third parties who provide us with tools to allow you to request deletion of the collection of information when interacting with LiVE by CF or who allow you to opt-out of their services or information collection.

When We Share or Disclose Information

  • Affiliates and Advertising Partners. Cadillac Fairview shares and combines personal information collected about you across our companies in order to provide the services you request and to assist each other in their businesses. For example, if you sign up for a newsletter for a Cadillac Fairview shopping centre through LiVE by CF, Ravel by CF Inc. will share that information with The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited. We will only use combined information for purposes consistent with this Privacy Notice or as disclosed in The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited’s Privacy Policy or another Cadillac Fairview privacy notice provided to you. We may also share information with our advertising partners in order to deliver relevant advertising to you on other websites or in other apps you use.
  • Analytics and Insights. We may disclose non-identifiable information such as aggregated information and statistics about how users use LiVE by CF and respond to in-app offers and features to third parties in order to provide services to those third parties (for example, retailers in Cadillac Fairview shopping centres).
  • Business transactions. We may disclose or transfer information to a third party as part of a business transaction, such as the sale of all or a portion of our assets. We may do this without your prior consent. However, either we or the purchaser will notify you if this happens. If another entity acquires all or a portion of our assets, information that we collected from you may be shared with that entity. The information may also be shared for the purpose of that entity considering whether to enter into the transaction and also to complete the transaction.
  • Legal purposes. We may also disclose your personal information if we are permitted or required to do so by law. For example, these circumstances include: (a) if such disclosure is necessary for us to receive legal advice; (b) to collect a debt from you; (c) if we are required to disclose your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation or the decision of a judicial authority; (d) if disclosure is requested by an investigatory body, law enforcement official or governmental authority which has lawful authority to request the disclosure of the information in respect of an investigation; (e) if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the information relates to a breach of an agreement or contravention of a law; and (f) to detect, prevent or investigate fraud.

Children's Privacy

You should be at least 13 years old to use LiVE by CF. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age, please assist your child in deleting LiVE by CF and Contact Us for information on how to request the deletion of your child’s personal information.

If you are between 13 years of age and the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which you are using LiVE by CF, you must only use LiVE by CF under the supervision of your parent or legal guardian who agrees to these LiVE by CF Terms of Service. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a minor using LiVE by CF, you must monitor and supervise the use of LiVE by CF by the minor and you are responsible for all financial charges and legal liability of the minor.

App Sharing

LiVE by CF allows you to send a message to a friend or family member with a link to download and install the LiVE by CF App. You must not use this app sharing feature unless you know the individual would want to receive this message from you. We do not collect the contact information of the individual you send the message to. However, we do collect statistics on how you use this feature.

If you are a recipient of a message inviting you to download and install the LiVE by CF App that you believe violated this Privacy Notice, please contact us by one of the means listed below.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to request access to personal information that we have collected about you. These rights may be limited by law. For example, access rights may be limited if the information is subject to solicitor-client privilege or consists of references to other persons or proprietary information that cannot be severed.

You have the right to correct or update any information that we have collected about you. In some cases, if we disagree with your requested correction, we may retain the original information and note your disagreement.

You also have the right to withdraw consent to our use of personal information that we have collected about you. In some cases, you may have the right to request that we delete information if it is no longer required by us for the purposes for which we collected that information or for the purposes of fulfilling legal requirements or protecting our interests. You should be aware that it is not always possible to completely remove or delete all of your personal information from our databases without some residual copies of data because of backups, archival systems and other reasons. We will not, however, continue to use your personal information for active purposes once you have requested us not to do so.

You can pause or turn off in-app personalization of your experience within LiVE by CF. As you use LiVE by CF, we collect information about your use of LiVE by CF in order to improve the relevancy of the search results, offers and promotions we show you. Visit My LiVE > Settings > Data Analysis for options. If you pause personalization by turning it off for less than 30 days, you can turn in-app personalization back on and LiVE by CF will continue to personalize your experience based on your previous history. If you turn off in-app personalization for more than 30 days and then turn in-app personalization back on, we will only personalize your experience based on your new history. If you turn off in-app personalization permanently, we will still collect and use your personal information for other purposes outlined in this LiVE by CF Privacy Notice.

You can turn off push notifications at any time by changing your push notification settings under My LiVE > Settings > Notification Preferences within LiVE by CF. You can turn off all push notifications or just push notifications from certain retailers.

You can opt-out of location-based services at any time by changing your device’s permissions for LiVE by CF. For Android devices, open your Settings App and choose Location > App permission or Security & location > Location. For iOS devices, choose Settings > Privacy > Location Services. For more information or help, please refer to your device’s operating system user guide.

You can opt-out of network advertising programs that track your activities across multiple websites to deliver personalized advertising content to you. Please visit Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada Opt-Out Page, NAI Opt-Out Page and the Ad Choices Opt-Out Page.These websites provide tools that identify member companies that have placed cookies on your browser and provides mechanisms to opt-out of those cookies. You will still receive other types of advertising from participating companies; however, it will not be based on your interests. Deleting browser cookies can remove your opt-out preferences, so you should use these tools periodically to ensure that your preferences are up-to-date.

You can opt-out of the use of your mobile device’s advertising ID by adjusting your mobile device advertising preferences. For Android devices, open your Settings App > Google > Ads. For iOS devices, go to Settings > Privacy > Advertising.

We use third-party service providers that assist us in analyzing your use of LiVE by CF. When we have the technical capability to do so, we provide you with settings in LiVE by CF that permit you to limit the sharing of your in-App activities with these third parties. Visit My LiVE > Settings > Data Analysis for options. If you turn off sharing, we may still collect and share data that is non-identifiable or that is required to provide or secure the functionality of LiVE by CF. Currently, you may opt-out of sharing information with Branch Metrics, Inc.’s attribution services. These services help us measure the effectiveness of our marketing of LiVE by CF. For information on Branch Metrics’ privacy policy, please visit www.branch.io. You can also opt-out of the collection and use of some of the analytics services provided to us by Adobe.

If you use LiVE by CF and would like us to make an access, correction, deletion or opt-out request, you can contact us through LiVE by CF by choosing My LiVE > Settings > Connect With Us and selecting the topic “Privacy & Legal”.

For assistance in exercising your right to access, correction deletion or opt-out rights, please make your request in writing to Ravel by CF Inc., Attention: Chief Privacy Officer, 20 Queen Street West, Suite 500, Toronto, ON M5H 3R4 or support@ravelbycf.com. You can also use the contact form in LiVE by CF by choosing My LiVE > Settings > Connect With Us and selecting the topic “Privacy & Legal”. Please note that we may request personal information from you in order to authenticate your identity before providing you with access to your personal information or complying with any request to correct or update your personal information.

Security

We maintain physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of any personal information transmitted to us using LiVE by CF. You have a shared responsibility to keep information that is collected or created through LiVE by CF safe. You should use a device password, use only the latest version of LiVE by CF, and install the latest security updates and anti-virus software on your device.

Location of Information

LiVE by CF is powered by services that store and process information in Canada and the United States. We may add or change services that rely on service providers who store and process personal information in other countries.

Privacy Notice Updates

We may amend, update and revise this LiVE by CF Privacy Notice and apply any changes to information previously collected, as permitted by law. If there are material changes to this policy or our information practices change in the future, we will notify you by a message through LiVE by CF.
